How to choose a puppy in Moldova and what the price means
A dog is the most common purchase on Moldova's pet market and, at the same time, the riskiest one: the puppy goes home at 2–3 months, while breed traits, health and temperament only show by the age of one. That is why every listing on Dinastia openly shows the three things that most often lead to disappointment: the documents, the veterinary history and the parents.
Pedigree puppy prices in Moldova run from 4,000 MDL for a dog without papers from a home mating up to 18,000 MDL for a show-class puppy from a kennel with imported sires and dams. The difference almost always comes down to four things: an RKF/FCI registration, the parents' titles, hereditary disease test results (HD/ED for large breeds, a breathing test for brachycephalics) and the age at handover.
When choosing a breed, honestly count the upkeep rather than the purchase: food, the vet, grooming and boarding while you are away. A German Shepherd costs about twice as much per year as a Corgi, while a French Bulldog is cheaper to feed but more expensive at the vet because of its airway anatomy. Work that figure out before you buy, not after: it is the upkeep, not the price of the puppy, that decides whether you can carry the breed.
